Farahan
In 1947 Pakistan became independent from India and is now in the
mainstream of rug production. Rugs woven in Pakistan are still
woven at home, to a large extent, following the influences of
Persian, Moslem and Turkomen craftsmen. Pakistan rugs can be
identified by their wide variety of colours and the repetitive
'gul' motif.
