Long rugs, known as ‘runners’ usually range from 2 to 3 feet in width and between 6 and 17 feet in length. These are ideal for hallways and corridors of a room accompanying the main rug, while circular or square rugs can be used in smaller rooms or offices.
The rugs come in various colours from rich deep red to bright silky cream, and they are all designed to suit a particular area. Most nomadic and tribal rugs would have a symmetrical pattern with the majority of these rugs being red, while the finer silk rugs from the masters would have fine intricate silk work and small delicate patterns.
All colours are made from natural dyes that are extracted from plants and flowers and even foods growing around the regions where the rugs are woven. The rug will seem to change colour as the viewing angle is varied depending on lighting conditions. Sometimes it is a good idea to try a number of different rugs in a room before making that final decision.
TThe rug's density, or number of knots per square inch, can be a useful indicator of the fineness and durability of the rug; the more knots the better quality and greater durability. A superb Oriental rug should have between 400 to 900 knots per square inch.

Delivery on most goods is approx. 4 working days from the date of cleared funds. 'Special order' items will take longer. For example, each rug ordered from our Modern or Classic Modern range over the standard size (acrylic 3.5m x 3m rugs) is classed as a special order item and is individually imported from Europe; otherwise rugs from these two categories can take from 5-10 working days as these do get delivered to us first.
